5 Day Mindset Makeover

As we begin settling into 2021, a lot of us might be noticing that resolution or intention of "be happier" or "stress less" is a little harder than we thought.
That's because those emotions of stress, worry, anxiousness etc. aren't just surface level emotions.
That ish runs deeeep.
So just having the intension of "be happier" isn't going to cut it.
However, getting into a happier mindset is in not way impossible.
It takes 5 days of intensional conditioning to create a mindset that will launch you into that life you're wanting to live.
(P.S.I have all of these broken down in my 5 Day Mindset Makeover Challenge where you'll receive a daily audio lesson plus worksheets! Get yours here.)
Day 1: Set a clear direction
Who we are 5 years from know is a direct reflection of what we are doing today.
-->Read that again.
I don't say this to stress you out, or to make that little voice in your head flair up and start going off about how 5 years from now you is gonna suck!
I say that to inspire the opposite.
If we know that the version of us in 5 years is going to be molded by out habits and actions today... that gives us a path, that gives us a direction, HECK that gives us some freaking GOLD to go off of!
Exercise:
Picture your life 5 years from now in full detail. Walk through an entire dream day.
(I offer this in a free guided meditation. You can get that here.)
Write out exactly what it will be like:
What do you do?
What are your habits?
What do your relationships look like?
What does your bank account hold in it?
Then pick one element that really resonates with you.
Is it a habit, mindset, business, partner, amount of cash money in the bank? Pick one. (Spoiler, it might be the scariest one.)
Ask yourself, what is one way that I can start working towards that today?
Do it. Today. Seriously.
Day 2: Identify your fears
Is there a reason you haven't gone after the things you want? Is there a reason your mindset seems to be stuck in doomsday? Why? It's time to do a the hard thing and identify it.
This can be as simple as having this conversation with yourself (yes, embrace the crazy):
Q: What do you want and why hasn't it happened yet?
A: I want to start my own business, but I can’t find the motivation.
Q: Why not?
A: I’m scared that if I do it, no one will buy my product.
Q: What happens if no one buys my product?
A: If no one buys my product then I’ll feel so embarrassed.
Q: Then what?
A: Then people might laugh at me.
Q: Then what?
A: Then I'll feel like a failure.
So, you're not actually unmotivated... You're afraid of failing.
Exercise:
1. Have the fear conversation. Figure out what you're really afraid of.
2. Flip the script. Ask yourself, what will happen if I do it and everything goes right? Write about it. Ignore your fear brain for a few minutes and just let it feel really good.
Day 3: Create your personal affirmation
Remember that 5 year future version of yourself? What do they say to themselves?
Aka: what things do they believe about themselves and know to be true?
Is it I am enough, I am worth, I am powerful, I am good, I am wanted, I am trusted, etc.
What do they say to themselves on a daily basis with ease?
Pick one and make it your daily affirmation now.
Remember, we are creating the 5 year version of ourselves right now. If they believe something about themselves, it's because you started saying it today.
Exercise:
What does the 5-years-from-now version of you say to themselves on a daily basis? Make a list of sayings.
Pick one that resonates with you the most.
Post this saying everywhere. Seriously. Your mirror, the background of your phone, the fridge, your desk, your hand! Anywhere you’ll see it constantly.
Day 4: Change your focus
What you focus on, you direct energy into.
The issue is that so many of us are focusing on the things we DON'T want... and then wondering why on earth it keeps showing up.
Three words:
Shift. Your. Focus.
Easiest way to change your focus, change what you're absorbing.
Has this ever happened? You're scrolling social media and you're only seeing people who look like they have it all together, who are constantly achieving, who are a size -0 and talk about how easy their life is and as you look at perfect life after perfect life, you start to think about how un-perfect your own life is and then suddenly you're caught in a sh*t storm?
It's cause you're focus was on comparison, which then set off the "let's look at all the things I'm doing wrong" part of your brain.
It feels awful. But you can change it.
Exercise:
As you go through your day, be mindful on what you're choosing to focus on. If you notice you're suddenly going into a negative place, ask yourself (without judgement) "what am I focusing on?" Then change it. Listen to a motivational podcast (I've got one here!), read, go on a walk, pet your dog, do some jumping jacks, the possibilities are endless!
Change your focus, and you change your life.
Day 5: Find a coach or mentor
Say it with me, "I don't have to do it all on my own."
Studies show that people do the most growth, hold themselves to the highest standard, and follow through on the most projects when they have a coach. Period.
Some of the biggest growth I've experienced personally and professionally has been when I was working 1:1 with a coach. So much so that I have decided never to not have a coach again.
You are allowed to invest in yourself.
If this 5 day challenge inspired you or got you excited for the possibilities you can create for yourself, then I might make a good coach for you.
